Abstract
418,864. Mop wringers. ROTHERHAM, G. H., 7, Spencer Hill, Wimbledon, London. Oct. 19, 1933, No. 28968. [Class 19.] A mop wringer in which a movable roller 7 engages an arcuate plate 2 is characterized in that resilient means are provided to afford a variable distance between roller and plate. A receptacle 1 of rectangular formation has the perforated plate 2 pivoted at 3. The upper end of the plate has a transverse rod 4 extending through arcuate slots 4<1> in the receptacle and engaging helical springs 5 fixed at 6. The roller 7, preferably of rubber, is mounted on arms 8 of a frame 9 pivoted at 10. The frame is provided with an operating handle 12. The resiliency of the springs prevents the upper part of the mop being pressed too hard. Instead of the springs 5, a compression spring may be placed between the plate 2 and the walls of the receptacle. In a modification, the pivot 3 may be spring mounted, or the roller, or the roller frame pivot. Specification 379,946 is referred to.
