Abstract

221,198. Lewis, S. Sept. 1, 1923, [Convention date]. Dust-pans.-A hinged lid C is connected by a flexible link L to a U- shaped handle H in which the pan is pivotally mounted so that the lid C is kept open when the pan is in use with its base on the floor and closes automatically when the pan is lifted. The pan may be formed with a semi-circular rear portion r provided with toothed projections g of elastic or semi-elastic material to prevent the pan from slipping on initial contact with the floor.
