418,861. Peeling fruit and vegetables. VICK, F. E. J., Newmarket, and JOHNSON, B. W., Lock Mills, both in Nailsworth, near Stroud, Gloucestershire. Sept. 19, 1933, No. 25859. [Class 28 (ii).] A fruit or vegetable peeling-knife comprises a blade A associated with a gauge E, the blade having a shank which passes revolubly through the handle B, the gauge E being firmly fixed in the handle. The shank of the blade is screwed at its end to receive a nut D which retains a lever C on flats on the shank. The nut is prevented from slacking by riveting over the end of the shank. The blade is thus angularly adjustable relatively to the gauge E either to adjust the thickness of the cut, or to render the knife suitable for left or righthanded use.
