Abstract

418,672. Cycle-wheel locking-devices. BURTON, J., 13, Esher Road, New Ferry, Birkenhead. April 19, 1933, No. 11412. [Class 79 (iii).] A lock-casing c, clamped to the wheel fork or frame of a motor or other cycle, carries a pivoted arm f adapted to be swung between the wheel spokes, and to be automatically locked in this position, necessitating release by a key. The pivotal end of the arm is bent at right angles and seats in holes in opposite sides of the casing, removal being prevented by the formation of lugs j<1>. A spring l coiled round the stem normally retains the arm in the out of action position in which a radial bar k secured in a slot in the stem j bears against a fixed stop m. When the arm f is swung by hand to engage between the wheel spokes, a lug k<2> on the upper edge of the bar k is caught in a slot h<2> in a pivoted locking plate h held down by a spring g. The end k<1> of the bar k is bent at right angles and shaped to form wards for a key which is inserted through the keyhole e and rotated to lift the plate h.
