416,925. Fluid -actuated valves. RALPH, J., 23, Albert Road, Worcester. Feb. 21, 1933, No. 5267. [Class 135.] Valves controlled by pilot or relay valves.- Means for controlling the supply of heating fluid to a consumer by means of a thermostat 28 located in the consumer comprises a valve 4 controlling the flow of heating fluid and actuated by a piston 11 exposed on either side to the pressure in the pipes 1, 2. The main 3 is connected by a pipe 5 to a chamber 8 connected by restricted passages 6, 7 to the ports 9, 10 and the pipes 1, 2. The pipes 1, 2 are connected to a valve casing and the outlets are alternately connected to an exhaust port 15 by means of a shuttle valve 23 actuated by the thermostat 28. The position of the valve 23 may be varied relatively to the thermostat by adjusting the member 38 and so altering the longitudinal position of the valve 23 on its spindle 30. The seat 21 of the valve 23 is resiliently mounted so that when the heat is shut off from the consumer the seat may move with the valve under the action of the thermostat.
