Abstract

416,638. Surgical optical instruments. GALLO, A. S., 936, Villanueva Street, and WELLS, E. A. M., 1647, Callao Street, both in Buenos Aires. March 2, 1934, No. 6792. [Class 81 (ii).] An optical accessory for clinical or surgical use comprises a large double-convex lens carried by an adjustable support, and a number of electric lamps mounted on the frame of the lens and arranged to direct their light on the spot to be inspected. The lens 1 is mounted in a hollow annular frame 2 which is attached to a flexible or articulated arm 9 that terminates in a foot or is secured to the operating table or bench. Sockets 5, for small electric lamps 6, are secured to one side of the frame 2, the leads for supplying current to the lamps being housed within the frame 2 and the arm 9. Tubular shields 7 surround the lamp sockets and direct the light on to the area which is inspected through the lens 1.
