206,435. Jones, H. M. Macnaughton-. Feb. 19, 1923. Pedestal, pillar, and like stands.-An adjustable support for lamps, shades, mirrors, &c. comprises a framework in the form of one or more parallelograms having a pair of parallel arms F, G, one carrying the lamp &c., the other an adjustable counterweight H, the two arms being maintained in parallelism by pivotally-connected links E, D, one of which is pivotally attached to a standard A rotatable about a base B and the other carrying a slidable counterweight K so as to enable the support to be adjusted as regards balance to suit articles of different weights. In modifications, the links E, D are replaced by other arrangements of parallel links adapted to maintain the arms F, G in parallelism.
