Easel stands. - A counterbalanced drawing- board 10. adapted to be set and clamped at any height and inclination, is pivoted at 9 to the upper ends of vertical struts 6, which are pivotally connected to the free ends of parallel links 4, 5, respectively pivoted at 2, 3 to a vertical column 1. A rod 7 pivoted to one of the links 5 passes through a bush 8 rotatably mounted on the column and can be secured by means of a clamping-screw to hold the drawing-board at a set height. A similar rod 11 for adjusting the inclination is hinged to the frame of the drawing-board and is slidable within a rotatable bush 12 supported by a bracket 13 on the strut 6. A counterbalance weight 25 is adjustably mounted or. either of the parallel links 4, 5 to facilitate the adjustment of the height of the drawing- board. The bars 4 are provided with extensions carrying stops 14, which support the drawing- board when it is folded completely down into a horizontal plane.
