Abstract
415,839. Telephoning over power circuits. PIRELLI-GENERAL CABLE WORKS, Ltd., 343, Euston Road, and WERREN, H. T., 45, Maresfield Gardens, Hampstead, both in London. March 28, 1933, No. 9354. [Class 40 (iv).] The protective pilot cable of an electric power feeder system may transmit a low-frequency alternating current or voltage and be simultaneously used for telephony or other alternating current signalling. The signal transmitting and receiving apparatus are connected over lines b, b<1>, high-pass filters d, d<1>, and transformers c, c<1> to the pilot wires a, a<1>. The filters d, d<1> cut off the low frequency present on the pilot wires and low-pass filters X, X<1> may be inserted in the pilot lines to cut off the harmonics of the power supply frequency. The primaries of the signalling transformers c, c<1> may have condensers g, g<1> interposed therein.
