Abstract

414,928. Gun mountings. CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST V BRNE, and STALLER, K., 7, U Lazeretu, Br³nn, Czecho-Slovakia. Oct. 27, 1933, No. 29914. [Class 92 (i).] An adjustable strut for elevating and supporting the rear end of a firearm has means which in one position secures the firearm and in another position releases the firearm from the strut. The strut comprises telescopic right and left-hand threaded screws 1, 2 splined to permit only relative axial movement by a key 4 and keyway 3, and engaged by a sleeve 5 having an operating handwheel 6. The member 1 is pivoted to a slide 8, seating on the stand carrying the firearm, and the upper end of the member 2 is tapered at 9 to seat in a member 10 mounted in the butt of the gun. A spring- plunger 12 snaps into a groove 13 around the head 9 to retain the butt and strut in engagement. A nut 15 in the form of a handwheel is adapted to lock with the sleeve 5 when the gun is at the required elevation, or the nut may be raised to disconnect the butt of the firearm from the strut.
