Abstract
530,079. Aiming rests for firearms. CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST BRNO. June 15,1939, No. 17567. Convention date, June 15, 1938. [Class 119] A foldable support, which may be a bipod 1, is hinged to the barrel 3 at 2<SP>1</SP>, a stay being coupled to the support and to the gun so that the angle of the support, and hence the height of the line of fire, may be adjusted. The stay may consist of a single member 5 hinged at 4 to the support 1 and at 6<SP>1</SP> to a sleeve 6 longitudinally adjustable on the barrel, a spring- controlled lever 8 being provided on the sleeve so that the sleeve may be locked in any position to which it is adjusted, by the engagement of a tooth 8' on the lever with grooves 3' on the gun barrel. Alternatively, the stay may comprise telescopic members hinged at fixed points on the gun and support and adapted to be clamped together in any adjusted position. The sleeve 6 may be adjusted by rack and pinion mechanism or may be formed as a clampable sleeve secured in adjusted position by a tensioned screw. The parts of the stay. when formed as telescopic members, may also be adjusted by rack and pinion mechanism.
