Abstract
414,314. Waxing threads. MEISTER, F., ADRIAN, J., and ADRIAN, jun., J., 31, Feldbergstrasse, Oberursel, Taunus, Germany, (trading as ADRIAN & BUSCH). March 2, 1934, No. 6775. Convention date, July 6, 1933. [Class 140.] An electrically-heated wax pot for waxing threads comprises an inner chamber in which are located an electric heating device and thread guiding means. The inner chamber preferably contains a heating element and a thermostat in separate tubes, and thread guiding means carried on a separate detachable plate. The wax pot 1 has an inner chamber 14 in which is a tube 11 containing a heating element 33, a tube 12 containing a thermostat 30, the two tubes being connected by a perforated webbing 13 for purposes of heat transmission, and a detachable plate 17 having thread guiding means 18, 19. Wax is fed in through the funnel 2, and only the wax in the inner chamber 12 is kept melted. When the wax is sufficiently hot, the thermostat 30 causes the point 27 to rise and engage the lever 25 pivoted at 24, and so tilt the mercury switch 22 to break the circuit to the heater. The mercury switch and its lever are mounted on a second lever 26 pivoted at 28 for purposes of adjustment, a locking nut 34 being provided.
