Abstract
413,842. Electric lamps. CAMPBELL, G., and BENJAMIN ELECTRIC, Ltd., Brantwood Works, Tariff Road, Tottenham, London. May 5, 1933, No. 13116. [Classes 39 (ii), 75 (ii), and 75 (iii).] A disconnectible lamp fitting comprises a cup-shaped member 6 supported at one side by a hook 9 and staple 10 forming a hinge, and at the other side by a latch 11 engaging with a catch 12 under the action of a spring 14 and having a locking screw 15. The member 6 carries blade contacts 16 that engage fixed contacts 3 and are mounted in a block 17 having a boss 17<a> of irregular outline to locate it correctly in the member 6. The lampholder 19 is connected to the contacts 16 by rods 21 having cooling pins as described in Specification 411,127. The reflector 7 is attached by screws 8 and keyhole slots to the member 6 with heat-insulating-cork packing between, and a supplementary reflector 23 is attached to the lamp-holder by screws 27, blocks 26, and straps 24. The coupling- member may be modified to screw into the top of an existing reflector and is then constructed to prevent the passage of hot air from the lamp while accommodating connections from the lamp-holder to the contacts 16.
