Abstract
497,731. Lamps. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 20, 1937, No. 8266. Void. Convention date, March 25, 1936. [Classes 75 (iii) and 75 (iv)] The casing 4, Fig. 1, of a floodlight &c. is pivoted on pins 7 in a yoke support 6 and the electric lamp 8 is mounted vertically in a U-shaped support 10, pivoted on pins 11 in the casing and connected by an arm 12, a link 13 and a fixed arm 16 to one or both of the pins 7 so that the lamp is maintained in the vertical operating position when the casing is adjusted in the yoke support. The pins 11 are preferably located in the focal plane of the reflector 5. The pins 7, 11 are recessed in the casing so as to bring the support 10 close to the inner surface of the casing and the upper end of the support 10 projects into a recess 20, the lamp 8 projecting through a slot 19 in the reflector. In a modification, the lamp 8, Fig. 5, is carried by brackets 25 fixed to pins 22 on which the casing 4 is pivoted so that the lamp remains stationary in focus with the reflector.
