Abstract

692,959. Electric lamp fittings. SYLVANIA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS, Inc. Feb. 23, 1951 [Feb. 28, 1950], No. 4515/51_ Classes 75(ii) and 75(iv) An electric lamp fixture comprises a chassis 1 having end plates 2 on the inner face of each of which are disposed projecting tabs 15, engaged by a flanged portion or flanged portions 20 of one or more lightcontrolling panel or panels 5. Latches 17 pivotally mounted on the end plates 2 hold the panels 5 in position. Fluorescent lamps 12 are supported by lampholders 6, fastened either to the end plates 2, or, as shown, to the inside faces of and projecting through apertures in the chassis 1. A V-section reflector 3 is supported by spring latches 13 and the plates 2 beneath the chassis 1, and is slotted to receive louvre fins 4 having hooked ends 16 for seating the lower edges of the panels 5. Each fin 4 is locked to the reflector 3 by a tab 14 formed integrally with the fin and deformed after the latter has been positioned in the reflector slot. The reflector 3 may be supported, when access is required to the chassis 1 for maintenance purposes by a pair of chains 18 after it has been disengaged from the latches 13.
