Abstract

606,403. Tubular electric lamps. SIEMENS ELECTRIC LAMPS & SUPPLIES, Ltd., and STEVENS, R. W. Jan. 14, 1946, No. 1295. [Classes 75(ii) and 75(iv)] A fitting for a tubular electric lamp comprises a channel member 1 closed by a detachable cover plate 3, Fig. 1, bearing auxiliary apparatus 7, 8, 9, 10 and lamp sockets 13 on opposite sides. The lamp sockets 13 may be mounted on the same side of the plate 3 as the auxiliary gear and extend through to the opposite side, and the starter switch 9 and condenser 10 may be mounted on a block 11 sprung into an aperture 12 in the plate 3 so as to be removable from below. The plate 3 is attached to the channel 1 by, screws 4 engaging in straps 6, and the ends of the channel are closed by end plates 19, Fig. 3, held by screws 21 engaging in straps 22. The end plates 19 may have hooked portions 25 adapted to support reflectors 28 having vertical key-hole slots 29 engaging wing nuts 2 of the channel 1, the sides of the horizontal diameter of each slot being made proud to ensure that the wings of the nut 2 register with indentations in the reflector when turned through 90 degrees.
