Abstract

413,653. Fastening railway rails. DOETZ, H., 25, Lobstadterstr, Borna, Leipsic, Germany. Jan. 18, 1934, Nos. 1860 and 1861. Convention dates, Jan. 19, 1933 and Feb. 2, 1933. [Class 104 (ii).] A rail fastening particularly suitable to track for excavators, which enables the track to be slued in its assembled condition, comprises clamps 3 adapted to be inserted in holes 4 in the sleeper &c. so that their upper jaws 5 engage the rail flange, while the lower 6 are separated by a substantial space a from the sleeper, the body of the clamp being shorter than the length of the hole 4. The lower part of the clamp may be bevelled towards the jaw 6 so that the carrier 9 is within the hole 4, and the back is vertical from the top to the carrier 9. It is narrower than the hole to permit limited turning about the vertical axis, and has lateral projections 10 to which a tool may be applied to effect adjustment. In another form, the upper part is thickened to cover the hole and bear on the sleeper.
