Abstract

237,202. Griffiths, J. P., and Wilson, W. Street-. May 14, 1925. Chairs with separate jaws.-Chairs consist of a base-plate a and jaw k secured together, and a movable jaw e engaging a lug c separate from but secured to the base a, all the parts being rolled. The jaw e which is tapered has a shoulder e<1> engaged by a projection c<1> on the lug c, and is secured to the sleeper by a coach screw passing through a hole g in the jaw e and slot h in the base a. In the case of bull-head rails, Fig. 1, both jaws engage the rail web, while in the case of flange rails, Fig. 3, both jaws engage the rail foot although the jaw k may also engage the rail web.
