Chairs with separate jaws ; chair keys. - Rails d are secured in rolled chairs a by a wooden key j which engages the rail web e and one chair jaw c and by a rolled gripping- member which passes through the other chair jaw and engages the rail. In the case of a bull-headed rail, Fig. 1, the member f engages the rail web and is held in place by a tapered cotter h. In the case of a flange rail, Fig. 3, the member o grips the rail flange, while an additional member p passes through the key jaw and engages the other rail flange. The key j may be secured by a hook bolt l.
