Sleepers, and securing rails thereto.- Metal sleepers 2 have flanges 3 receiving stringers 4 on which the rails are secured by clamps 7 ; to retain them, these clamps have a pivoted locking-pawl 11 engaging the slot in the stringer, or a similar clamp inserted in the sleeper, when used to secure the stringers to the sleepers. The stringers have a flange 5 entering the ballast between the sleepers.
