413,335. Valve generating circuits; cathode-ray tubes. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London.- (Assignees of Lindenblad, N. E.; Port Jefferson, Long Island, New York, U.S.A.) Nov. 20, 1933, No. 32365. Convention date, Jan. 14. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v).] A high-frequency generator comprises a cathode-ray tube 3, having a cathode 2, a concentrating electrode 6, a hollow anode 12, two deflecting plates 14, 16, connected by a tuned circuit, e.g. a trombone slide 26, and two targets 18, 20 similarly connected by a trombone slide 22, the slides 22, 26 being connected over transmission lines 34 to produce continuous oscillation of the cathode rays from one target to the other. Output energy may be taken off by a transmission line 46 to an aerial 48. Harmonic oscillations may be diminished by the use of tuned circuits in the line 34. Modulating potentials from a microphone 50 are applied over a transformer 44 to the anode 12.
