Abstract

412,402. Wrapping - machines. SYLVANIA INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION, Fredericksburg, Virginia, U.S.A. June 1, 1933, No. 15877. Convention date, June 13, 1932. [Class 94 (i).] After articles have been wrapped by applying a wrapper, coated or otherwise amenable to heat sealing, the folds of the packets are secured by passing them over a heated roller 17, a small arc of which projects through an opening 18 in the table 11 of the machine. The roller is mounted so as to be rotated by the passage of the article. Electrical or other heating elements 20 are mounted in an arcuate trough 19 surrounded by asbestos or other heat-insulating material 26. The table 11 is preferably of low heat conducting character. A similar roller 17<1> may be vertically disposed to act on the ends or sides of packets. The roller may be made in sections and each section 28, Fig. 6, may be resiliently mounted on springs 29 to allow for an uneven packet surface. Specification 212,455, [Class 94 (i)], is referred to.
