Abstract
Anthrapyridones are obtained by causing acetoacetic alkyl esters to react at elevated temperature with 1-amino-4-alkyl, -aryl-, -aralkyl- or -hydroxylamino-anthraquinone-2-sulphonic acids in which the 5, 6, 7 or 8 positions may also be substituted. An appropriate solvent, e.g. phenol may be present, and the reaction is advantageously carried out in presence of alkaline reagents. Specification 28765/06, [Class 2], is referred to. According to examples: 1-amino-4-methyl-aminoanthraquinone-2-sulphonic, and 1-amino-4-anilidoanthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid are condensed with acetoacetic methyl and ethyl esters respectively, and the following anthraquinone derivatives are also specified as suitable:--1-amino-4-m-toluidoanthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid, - m - chloranilidoanthraquinone - 2 - sulphonic acid, - p - aminoacetanilidoanthra - quinone - 2 - sulphonic acid, - anilidoanthra - quinone - 2 : 6 - disulphonic acid,- anilido - anthraquinone-2 : 5-disulphonic acid, -hexahydroanilidoanthraquinone - 2 - sulphonic acid, and 1-amino-6-chloro-4-anilidoanthraquinone-2-sulphonic acid.
