412,066. Floors ; slabs; constructional ironwork. WAGENBACH, A., 6, Rue de la Plaine, Strasbourg, Metzgerau, Bas- Rhin, France. Sept. 2, 1933, No. 24376. Convention date, Sept. 6, 1932. [Classes 20 (ii), 20 (iv), and 87 (i).] A floor comprises slabs 2 of pumice-concrete or the like supported between parallel joists 1 of I-cross-section having the width of the flanges approximately equal to the height of the web, and the slabs are arranged to be longer than the free space between two adjacent joists but shorter than the space between the edge of the flange of one joist and the web of the adjacent joist so as to permit the insertion of the slabs either from the top or bottom of the joists by tilting the slabs obliquely. A filling 3 of concrete is provided above the slabs 2. The edges of the slabs are provided with ledges 10 to fit over the flanges of the joists 1, and slabs 4 are fitted beneath the flanges to form a flat surface to receive a plaster or other coating 5. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the provision of a relatively thin web for the joists and the formation thereon of projecting ribs, as shown in Fig. 4 (Cancelled). This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
