[Class 52 (ii).] A joint for connecting tubular metallic frames with timber parts of furniture is made by flattening one end of the tube 4 and inserting the flattened part into a mortice 5 formed in the timber 6. A bolt 7 is then passed through the timber and through an aperture in the flattened part of the tube, the head and nut of the bolt being preferably countersunk.
