411,975. Steam cooking -apparatus. CLAYTON, J. R., Grindelwald, and DAVIES, I. L., Stapleford, both in Staining Road, Newton, near Blackpool. Feb. 13, 1933, No. 4307. [Class 28 (i).] A steam cooker comprises receptacles 8 mounted to turn on a hollow pivot 2 through which steam is supplied to the receptacles from a boiler 5. The receptacles 8 have circular bottoms 9 and side lugs 10 which are threaded on the tube 2 and are ported at 12 to register with ports 11 in the tube, when the receptacles are in the cooking position. The receptacles are mounted to be swung into and away from a semi-cylindrical casing 1 having imperforate circular platforms 4 secured thereto, the receptacles 8 being arranged to lie between adjacent pairs of platforms 4. The tube 2 is connected to the casing 1 by lugs 3, and each receptacle 8 is locked to the casing 1 by a latch (one only being shown) when in the cooking position. When a receptacle 8 is swung away from the casing 1, for inspection of the contents; the ports 11, 12 become out of register and the steam supply to the receptacle is cut off. Water of condensation collects in the groove 15 and drains back into the tube 2 and to the boiler, either through separate ports 13, 14, or through the lower parts of extended ports 11, 12. Steam is admitted through ports 17, 18 to a box 16 which heats a food warming compartment 19. A safety valve 6 is provided at the top of the tube 2, and the boiler has a fusible plug. Packing rings 21 seal the joints between the receptacles 8 and the platforms 4.
