[Class 74 (ii).] In a knitting-machine having means to supply ground and warp threads to the needles the warp thread draw-off device is formed or fitted, with means to impart tension to each warp thread substantially at the moment of completion of the loop-drawing movement of the needle. After each needle has been raised, its associated thread feeder is moved outwardly by cam 17, and simultaneously a cam 21 draws off sufficient warp thread to wrap round the needle. The feeder is then deflected by a cam 19, and retracted by a return cam not shown, the yarn being yielded to the needle down the rear slope of the cam 21. A cam 22 now draws off sufficient warp thread for loop formation, and finally, as the needle nears the lowest point of the stitch-cam 26 a cam 18 re-projects the feeder, so as to hold the thread forwardly into the hook of the needle. As the needle reaches its lowest point, a cam 23 applies tension to the warp thread.
