Abstract

Salt preparations for use in the production of mineral (medicinal) waters, saline bath, and saline injections are obtained by irradiating alkali and alkaline earth metal salts of inorganic or organic acids either in the solid state or in solution by artificially produced ultra-violet or by X-rays. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 346,564.ALSO:Salt preparations for use in the production of mineral (medicinal) waters, saline baths and saline injections are obtained by irradiating alkali or alkaline earth metal salts of inorganic or organic acids either in the solid state or in solution by artificially produced ultra-violet- or by X-rays. Examples describe the treatment with ultra-violet rays of.-1, Physiological salt solution; 2, a solution of a mixture of potassium chloride and potassium carbonate for bathing; 3, a solid mixture of sodium chloride, sodium carbonate and sodium thiosulphate for addition to a bath for treating skin diseases; 4, a solid mixture of sodium carbonate sodium chloride and sodium hydrosulphate with small quantities of calcium acetate and lithium chloride for medicinal use; 5, a solution of sodium carbonate, sodium chloride and potassium chloride; and also the treatment of the mixture 5, with hard X-rays. The products are stated to have metabolic and other physiological effects. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 346,564.
