Abstract

A local coating on a mandrel for use in the hot extrusion of metal tubes may be made of the alloy sold under the Registered Trade Mark "Stellite" or of tungsten carbide, or may comprise chromium-containing steels of the Ledeburite type, such a steel containing 1,2-2,5 per cent of carbon and 10-13 per cent of chromium.
