[Class 138 (i).] Containers B are carried by a frame A which can be traversed on rollers E to a position above spraying nozzles P, Q, which are movable to and from the containers by a piston N actuated by washing liquid. The piston fits in a cylinder K connected to pipes L, M which are adapted to convey water under pressure. Other pipes may be provided for conveying disinfecting solutions. On opening a valve to admit water to the pipe L, the piston N with the tubes O is raised so that rotary nozzles P spray the inside and non-rotating nozzles of the outside of the containers. On opening a second valve to admit liquid to the pipe M the nozzles are lowered.
