Abstract

353,718. Washing-machine for dairy utensils. SIMONSSON, W., Hõlsingborg, Sweden. Aug. 9, 1930, No. 23886. [Class 138 (i).] A washing-machine particularly for dairy utensils such as milk cans, strainers, separator parts, and the like comprises a compartmented drum rotating step-by-step about a vertical axis and providing with the casing a series of washing chambers in which the utensils are sprinkled with washing fluids from jets at a number of stations. The sprinklers are set in operation by steam pressure which drives out the washing fluids. As shown, the drum 3 has four compartments which are moved in turn for sprinkling by jets 7, 8, 9. A pair of containers 18, 19, shown in section in Fig. 4, contain the supplies of washing fluid, and steam entering at 23 impinges on a pivoted valve 32 to close connection to a pipe 31 leading to the atmosphere. The steam raises the pressure in the container and discharges the liquid through a pipe 25 to the sprinklers.
