409,113. Cold - retaining vessels. LINDE AIR PRODUCTS CO., 30, East 42nd Street, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Dana, L. I. ; and Zenner, G. H. ; 155, Chandler Street, Buffalo, New York, U.S.A.) March 3, 1933, No. 6510. Convention date, April 19, 1932. [Class 29.] A container 10 for liquefied gases is provided with an outer casing surrounding an insulating space 18 which contains a metal shield 200 cooled intermittently by the liquid withdrawal conduit 141 and the gas escape conduit 162 which are coiled round the shield. A portion 16 of the gas escape conduit may be coiled round the vessel 10 itself. The insulating space communicates with the atmosphere through a trap 30 containing a drying agent such as calcium chloride, barium oxide or phosphorus pentoxide.
