Abstract

797,225. Surgical cooling. McGEE, J. D. Aug. 9, 1956 [Oct. 26, 1955], No. 30557/55. Class 81 (2). A vacuum - jacketed glass tubular vessel, open at both ends, is used to contain carbon - dioxide snow for the application of cold to warts. In one form two glass tubular members 10, 11 are sealed together, with the space 21 between them evacuated, and the inner one 10 contains solid carbon dioxide retained by cotton wool 35 and a closure cap 36. The inner vessel is lined with metal 25 in contact with a metal plug 26, into which an exchangeable applicator 33 is screwed. This last item is selected according to the area of skin which it is desired to freeze.
