Convention date, Nov. 25, 1932. [Class 100 (ii).] Tripping-arrangements.-In an apparatus for printing price labels and the like in which the types T are reciprocated vertically relatively to the impression bed 1, the types T print in conjunction with a platen 5 formed with a recess 3 to receive the impression pad 4, and the platen 5 is reciprocated, preferably synchronously with the types T, by means of a cam 19 and lever 17 which normally transmit motion to the platen 5 by means of an intermediate plate 8, which is moved to the left in Fig. 2 by a feeler lever 12 when a label 20 is moved into operative position. If a label is not fed to printing position a spring 7 moves the plate 8 free of the lever 17 and the platen is not moved to printing position and does not contact with the inked types.
