Abstract
408,019. Tables and the like. TOLLEY, C. L., 187, Tame Road, Witton, Birmingham. Oct. 8, 1932, No. 28065. [Classes 52 (iii) and 52 (v).] A table or stand has a top pivoted on links so that it may be set at two different heights or inverted, or both. Fig. 2 shows a tea, card, or like table with a top 6 mounted between standards 5 connected by horizontals 7. It is connected to them by links 9, one at each side, shown in Fig. 4, each link consisting of a short strip of metal pivoted on a bolt 11 with a square shank. The top 6 can therefore be arranged at two different heights, above and below the pivot 11, and retained by tightening the nut 12 and by a spring ball-catch 20. In the upper position it is supported by two hinged frames 14, 15, and in the lower position by two similar frames 16, 17 ; these frames may both be folded back, as the frame 16, 17 is shown in Fig. 2, and form part of the framework. The top 6 may then be turned to a vertical position to serve as a firescreen. One side 19 of the top may be covered with baize or the like ; the other may be polished or otherwise finished.
