Abstract
407,530. Radiators for aircraft and motor vehicles. FERLAY, G., 66, Rue Pierre-Larousse, Paris. March 10, 1933, No. 7340. Convention date, March 12, 1932. [Class 29.] The radiator 11 is placed in a Venturi-shaped passage in a casing secured to the leading edge of the wing of an aircraft. The cooling air leaves the casing through a slot 7 controlled by a hinged shutter 8 and arranged towards the back of the wing to give to the latter the characteristics of a slotted wing. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the placing of the radiator 11, Fig. 6 (Cancelled), in a Venturi-shaped passage in an open-ended chamber disposed beneath the fuselage and provided with a pair of hinged dampers 24 and a pivoted vane 8, an aperture 26 being provided to admit additional air into the chamber. Fig. 5 (Cancelled) shows a radiator 11 disposed in a Venturi-shaped passage in a chamber arranged on the roof of a motor vehicle and to which additional air is supplied through a duct 23 by a fan 21 driven by the engine. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
