Abstract

407,138. Stop valves. BARTON, W. G., White House, Manor Road Extension, Oadby, near Leicester. Nov. 8, 1932, No. 31530. [Class 135.] In a valve having metal to metal closure contact faces, one or both of the faces are coated with metal electrically deposited thereon, such as nickel, chromium, or cadmium. A particular example is a gate or sluice valve wherein the casing thereof is formed in two halves 1, 5 and 2, 6, the parts 1 and 2 being screwed and welded, the two halves being bolted together whereby the valve seatings 3, 4 are accessible for the metal coating operation.
