Abstract

406,063. Suction end catchers for spinning and like machines. SWYNGEDAUW, P., 2, Boulevard des Ecoles, Lille, France. Sept. 7, 1932, No. 24936. Convention date, March 24. [Class 120 (ii).] In a suction device for collecting broken ends in mules or twiners or continuous spinning and like machines comprising nozzles each normally closed by means controlled by a thread feeler, the closure of the nozzle b is effected by a preferably flexible plate e adapted to move in its own plane. The plate may be directly operated upon breakage by means of a feeler A, additionally loaded by a weight m if desired, or the feeler may be adapted to release locking-means and so to permit the plate to be operated, as by a spring or weight. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also arrangements wherein the closure member is constituted by a curved plate or valve, and wherein the feeler, upon breakage, displaces a lever rigid with the valve into the path of moving mechanism to operate the valve. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
