Abstract
Fuel oil for Diesel and like compression ignition engines is primed by dissolving therein a non-explosive aliphatic or non-aromatic-heterocyclic nitroso-compound. 1--5--10 per cent is specified. For example, 1 per cent of nitroso-triacetonamine or of nitroso N-methyl or N-ethyl urethane is dissolved in an oil fraction boiling up to 300 DEG C. obtained by the destructive-hydrogenation of coal. Specification 294,129, [Class 91, Oils &c.], is referred to.
