Abstract
405,492. Mercerizing processes. ERBA FABRIK CHEMISCHER PRODUKTE SPEZIALITATEN FUR DIE TEXTILINDUSTRIE, 46, Breitensteinstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. April 26, 1933, No. 12187. Convention date, April 27, 1932. [Class 15 (ii).] In order to increase the moistening power of mercerising solutions, phenols, including substituted phenols and terpineol are added thereto. Naphthenic acids, naphthenic alcohols or any aliphatic, aromatic or hydroaromatic compounds known to increase the moistening power of mercerising solutions may also be added. In examples, the following mixtures are added to mercerising solutions : (1) cresol and terpineol ; (2) cresol, Yarmor pine oil, and methylcyclohexanol; (3) cresol, Yarmor pine oil, and naphthenic acids. Specification 385,977 is referred to.
