Abstract

405,483. Ink. LOVINSOHN, E., SCHNELLING, M., and LOVINSOHN, H., (trading as LOVINSOHN & CO., DR.), 67, Prinzenallee, Friedrichsfelde, Berlin. April 6, 1933, Nos. 10360 and 10361. Convention dates, April 6, 1932 and Sept. 28, 1932. [Class 146 (iii).] Light-fast inks for printing with rubber printing-surfaces consist of a suspension of pigments or lake dyes insoluble in water and alcohol in an aqueous or non-aqueous alcoholresin-alkali solution without any additional solvents of high boiling-point. The amount of water present determines the drying period required. The pigment, which must not be affected by the alkali in the vehicle, may be hansa yellow, methyl violet, soot, chrome yellow, ultramarine, milori blue, lake red, permanent red, or lithol red; the alkali is preferably borax, but ammonia, inorganic or organic bases other than alkyl hydroxyamino compounds, ammonium carbonate, or the like may be used ; and the alcohol may be ethyl or methyl alcohol, or a ketone. According to examples, inks are prepared by grinding together (1) hansa yellow, shellac dissolved in ethyl alcohol, borax, and water ; (2) hansa yellow, shellac dissolved in ethyl alcohol, and borax ; (3) lithopone, shellac dissolved in ethyl alcohol, borax, and methyl violet. Specification 396,654 is referred to.
