Abstract
404,084. Buckles &c. WALKER, Ltd., T., WALKER, G. T., and WOOD, H. H., St. Paul's Square, Birmingham. Sept. 7, 1932, No. 24894. [Class 43.] An adjusting slide for braces, belts, bands, and the like is provided with a yoke 9 hingedly mounted transversely across the middle of the slide and operable to draw the slide along the band in either direction. The slide comprises flanges 3, outer bars 1, 2 and two spaced inner bars 4 between which a cranked bar 7 is offset. The ends of the bars 7 are curved to provide seatings 8 for inturned ends 10 of the yoke 9, the ends 10 being retained in position by a cover plate 11 secured over the bars 4. The return end of the band may be secured to the bar 7. The yoke crosses the front face of the band and is cranked to form a looped extension 14 serving as a finger-grip or as a holder for a finger-tab. The yoke is adapted to be turned down in either direction so as to enclose the slide and lie flat on the band. In a modification only one wide bar 4 is provided, the ends 10 are mounted in apertures in the flanges 3 and the return end of the band is secured to a sleeve mounted on inturned lugs integral with the flanges 3. The yoke may be formed with bearing holes engaging fixed pivots on the slide.
