403,263. Sand-blast. SCHEMMANN, W., 116, Schwerterstrasse, Boele, and KOTTMANN, F., 31, Eppenhauserstrasse, both in Hagen, Germany. April 4, 1933, No. 10133. [Class 60.] A centrifugal machine for scaling or cleaning metal plates, castings, &c., by throwing abrasive thereon, comprises a rotating shaft 1 carrying two paddles 2, 3 displaced axially, curved backwards relatively to the direction x of rotation, and tapered towards their outer ends, abrasive being supplied to the paddle 2 at its inner end from a pipe 4. In a modification, a single paddle only is used, this being curved backwards, and in some cases also tapered.
