[Class 26.] A device for supporting a bowl &c. over a sink, basin, table, or bench, comprises a circular or polygonal carrier-ring having at two or more positions around its perimeter bearing legs or saddles, one of which constitutes a fulcrum on which the ring is both hingedly and pivotally mounted so as to have movement in vertical and horizontal planes and the other (or others) so disposed as to engage the article above which the ring is carried, means for securing the fulcrum saddle in position and means for retaining the ring in a raised position. In a form in which the device is disposed above a sink, bearing and fulcrum saddles 8, 2, in the form of T-pieces are accommodated in cranked portions of a ring 1 during the process of bending the rod from which the ring is constructed ; each saddle has an internally-tapped leg engaging the threaded stem of a plate 5 or of a jawed member 11. The plate 5 is secured to a sill 6 and the jaws of the member 11 are spaced apart by a distance greater than the thickness of the edge of the sink 7 and have a resilient lining 12. The coacting legs and stems permit of the adjustment of the device as regards height, a locking-nut 14 being provided in the case of the bearing saddle ; further, in the case of the fulcrum-saddle, the co-acting leg and stem permit movement of the device in a horizontal plane. The device is maintained in raised position by the engagement of a pin on the ring 1 with a slot in the member 2. Where the device is used above a table or bench each bearing leg terminates in a padded flange.
