402,954. Gas meters. COMPAGNIE POUR LA FABRICATION DES COMPTEURS ET MATERIEL D'USINES A GAZ, 12, Place des Etats-Unis, Montrouge, Seine, France. Jan. 19, 1933, No. 1827. Convention date, Jan. 19, 1932. [Class 54.] A gas meter 8, which may be of large capacity, is calibrated by insertion with gas circulating means such as a rotary blower 2, a flow regulator 5, and a rotary engine such as a Roots' blower 6 in a closed pipe circuit 1, a motor 7 being provided to allow the speed of the Roots' blower to be adjusted until a differential pressure gauge 9 indicates that the pressures on the inlet and outlet sides of the Roots' blower are equal. The displacement volume of the Roots' blower multiplied by the number of its revolutions then measures the volume of gas passed through the meter. Gas containers 3, 4 may be arranged in front of and behind the blower 2.
