Abstract
402,857. Cooling-towers. MOUCHEL & PARTNERS, Ltd., L. G., 36, Victoria Street, and ELMER, R. B., 8, High Road, Wood Green, both in London. June 17, 1932, No. 17228. [Class 29.] The grid-work comprises thin rectangular strips or laths c supported on bearers a all inclined in one direction, the bearers being without notches for receiving the laths. The bearers may be parallel or convergent, and may be braced by horizontal or inclined members b, in which case the laths may be supported at the crossing points of the bearers and braces. The laths may be nailed in position, or the bearers may be spaced by the thickness of laths accommodated between them. The bearers may be of framed construction, as shown in Figs. 12 and 13, and the laths may be spaced by overlapping the ends of adjacent laths at the bearers. The parts may be of timber, asbestos, cement or metal. According to the Provisional Specification the laths may be supported in a trellis framework, which may be of the collapsable kind, secured to the posts of the stack.
