Abstract
402,242. Rontgen - ray apparatus. MULLER AKT.-GES., C. H. F., 24, R÷ntgenstrasse, Hamburg, Germany. Nov. 12, 1932, No. 32044. Convention date, Nov. 13, 1931. [Class 98 (i).] Cooling apparatus for a R÷ntgen - ray tube has a safety device consisting of a cylinder 9 through which the cooling liquid passes so as to move a piston 11 operating a signal or a switch 17 opening the current supply circuit when the liquid pressure fails. The cylinder is mounted in a container 10 surrounding the pump 1 and a fan 4 for cooling a radiator 5. The piston closes a port 12 wholly or partly when the pump is not working, and is connected with a switch 17 by an insulating rod 16 surrounded by an insulating tube 21. Circulation of liquid causes the piston to rise and open the switch 17, which controls an electromagnetic switch in the supply circuit. The pump is connected by an insulated shaft 2 with an electric motor 3 mounted on the container 10 by means of an insulating cylinder 15 or rods.
