Abstract

401,775. Floor cramps. STEVENS, H. A., 155, Belsize Road, London. June 6, 1932, No. 15950. [Class 61 (ii).] A floor cramp of the kind comprising a clamp to grip the joist and a rotatable cam to cramp the boards has a number of operating surfaces arranged in succession round the circumference of the cam. The V- shaped clamp 10 is secured to the joist 11 by a screw 12 operated by a pivoted lever 13 and carries the cam member 15 pivoted on a bolt 14 and provided with operating handles 18. One part 20 of the cam is flanged to exert a holding down action on the board 17 and the other edge has a tongue 21 for use with grooved boards. In a modification, Fig. 4, the cam has an inclined edge 23 coacting with a flanged interposed strip 22.
