May 9, 1932, No. 13368. Convention date, Jan 5. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii).] A film magazine for a kinematograph camera contains a film bearing footage indicia, and has one or more apertures through which the indicia may be observed without unloading the magazine. The aperture may be so placed as to necessitate removal of the magazine from the camera for the observation, or to permit observation without removal ; it may, alternatively, be an opening already provided in the magazine for another purpose, e.g., for operation of a feed claw. The Figure shows a construction in which an observation aperture 16 separate from the feed claw opening 14 is provided for reading marginal indicia between the film perforations. Alternatively the aperture 16 may be omitted, readings being then made through the opening 14. The observation aperture may be at the top or back of the magazine.
