Abstract
498,871. Colour photography. KODAK, Ltd. May 10, 1937, No. 24631/38. Convention date, May 9, 1936. Divided out of 500,826. [Class 98 (ii)] In a process of three-colour photography in which three colour-record silver salt images are processed to different colours, one record is converted into a dye image by a developing solution containing alkali, little or no sulphite, and as developing agent an o-aminophenol so substituted that a dimeric quinone imide dye is produced on development, the silver being subsequently removed without removing the dye. Two or more records may be so converted. The o-aminophenols have a free position p to either the -OH or NH2 group. Suitable substances are o-amino-sym-m-xylenol and its p-chlor, p-brom, or p-cyano derivatives, o-amino-m-brom-cresol, o-amino-p-xylenol, oamino-isopseudo-cumenol, 3-methoxy-o-aminophenol, o-amino-resorcin monoalkyl ethers, m-hydroxy-p-amino-dialkylanilines, o-aminom-cresol, 6-amino-o-cresol, #-amino-alpha-naphhthol alpha-phenylamino-#-naphthol, and #-phenylamino-alpha-naphthol. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the subjectmatter of Specification 500,826 as open to inspection under Sect. 91. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
